When it comes to farming, at Blue Horizon Innovaitons we believe there is nothing more vital than adequate farmland to feed the world.  However energy consumption and costs are becoming prohibitive in allowing farms to futureproof their family-owned operations.  One day the next generation will take over the family farm and paying high costs of energy can be miinimalized thanks to photovoltaics.  

While the term Agrivoltaics describes using elevated PV racks above farmland so that crops and livestock can thrive underneath, we believe the use of buffer zones and building structures can be a much better use of real estate. 

Structural Challenges:

The featured picture with five rows of panels on the roof of this barn was generated with the help of AI.  In reality each of those panels weigh approximately 50lbs and the structural engineering of that roof would need a massive support system.  However planning a building like this with a PV array of that size is not impossible.  With proper architecture and engineering, a structure like this example could prove incredibly useful for storing tractors, implements, and shelter for livestock; all while contriburing to the farm's energy consuption of attaining net zero.
